I'd have to say that for the most part it's true. Of course, there are hilarious comedians who aren't african american, but i've never met an african american comedian who didn't make me laugh.

There are lots of really funny black comedians out there. However, "Black-Perspective" humor is largely driven by trite racial observations which are overplayed, overdone, and tired, tired, tired.

I haven't heard an original "black-perspective" comedian in over two decades. Chris Rock, for example, can be hilarious. His racial stuff is just hack BS. Might as well tell knock-knocks or jokes about bad airline food.

It seems that I'm into female comedians right now... but not so much when they fall into the "Gender-Perspective Humor" ruts. Equally tired and boring.
