No, we didn't spell "bed and breakfast" wrong. One place in Denver, Colorado will be serving up a different kind of B &B atmosphere... the kind with a bunch of weed served with it. And it will appropriately be called a "bud and breakfast."

The Adiago Bed and Breakfast

According to a press release, a company that will be known as "The MaryJane Group, Inc" has signed a one-year lease with the owners of the Adagio Bed and Breakfast and it plans to transform the quaint site into a "pilot project in the marijuana-friendly lodging industry."

Those who stay at this B & B will be given a package that includes "unlimited food, drink and, of course, the best marijuana and marijuana edibles Colorado has to offer." What do you think about a bed and breakfast with a whole bunch of weed added into it? Is the idea awesome or does it make you go "ugh"?

Just to clarify, it's not an issue imo. For me, this has been nothing more than tongue & cheek dialogue for fun. For the record, at one point in my life, I was one of those individuals using FS.

I think it will be a hit ... or two ... or three ... until someone passes! :)

I can see how this will make business boom at this particular B&B;.

No that's not even a good issue; not to be rude. I KNOW ppl with FS and IM SURE if you'd consider going to a B&B FOR ONE (which isnt cheap) and more specifically, a specialized B&B for pot.....you'll know beftter

I have quite a bit of family that lives in CO. They all wish they could get out of that state. Would you want to live and raise a family there? ****, even the cookies there are laced with POT! I'm sure there are kids taking these pot laced cookies to schools and handing them out to their friends. I would hate for that to happen to my ***** and there's no way that sort of thing can be prevented. If I lived there and had kids I would move out. It has been well documented that pot alters the brain. I just don't need that in my life.

You're right, and that was actually what I meant to say, "mind-altering drugs", but I made a typo and put "mind-altering drug", when I proofread it it sounded wrong so I added "this" without thinking about what I meant to say, any drug is bad for you when abused

Of course you realize that, long before it became legal, Colorado was cannabis heaven. They grow some mean weed in those mountains! The state isn't going to change overnight just because what people have been doing for decades is now legal. Really, in many parts of Colorado, it's been YEARS since law enforcement even bothered with small-time growers and people who were in possession of small quantities of bud for personal use.

How do you know this? I've been here all my life and that isn't the picture I have of this beautiful state... Prove yourself... Colorado Mountains Colorado Springs Denver Colorado

We'll, I don't live there, but I've had family living in Colorado all my life and have visited there nearly every year of my life. My daughter did her graduate work at CU-Boulder and lived in Boulder and Longmont for several years afterwards. I have a cousin in law enforcement in Denver. I've seen people smoking up on the street in Boulder, Denver and various mountain towns. Conversations with my cousin and some of his friends is how I know that law enforcement has long felt that they had more important fish to fry than small-time users and growers. (Actually, they feel that way here in Wisconsin, too. I heard that directly from a DOJ special agent a number of years ago. They'd rather worry about the people who are cooking meth and selling heroin.)

Of course, lots more people don't smoke up openly, but keep it inside their homes. You'd probably be surprised at who they are. I know some pretty serious Colorado pot-heads who hold down high-paying professional jobs, belong to the PTA, go to church every Sunday morning.....in other words, live completely normal and responsible lives....and also smoke pot on a weekly, if not daily, basis.

Being a student in Boulder that doesn't surprise me. Boulder is a very liberal town and total college-ville. I think that It is all in how you're raised as to how you *** up handling the issue of drugs. ******** can be raised drug free...

Well, graduate students working on master's degrees don't usually live on campus or hang out with the frat/sorority crowd. And I've actually never noticed that there's any particular correlation between political affiliation and whether people smoke pot or not. I know plenty of Republicans who smoke it on a weekly basis. Actually, some of the people my daughter roomed with while working on her graduate degree - people who were employed as engineers, scientists, computer programmers - voted Republican and smoked weed every day.

I think how you're raised determines whether your parents ever find out that you smoke weed.

I think it's too bad that people have to depend on mind altering drugs to make them feel better or feel happy... I was taught to meet life head on and make it work the best possible way for you...

Pot is pretty much like alcohol in that there are many different reasons that people use it and many different levels of use. Yes, some people use it to escape their problems. Some people use it to self-medicate other issues. (Actually, pot is far superior in that way which is why doctors sometimes prescribe marijuana but virtually never prescribe alcohol.) Some people use it excessively and *** up doing serious damage, both to their health and in their lives and relationships. Other people use it in a very moderate fashion in social situations or to help relax at the *** of a long day. Not every person who drinks alcohol is an alcoholic and not every person who smokes pot is a drug addict.

My personal observation is that alcohol is really far more dangerous in every way. Excessive pot-heads tend to lack motivation but they generally don't do the kinds of horrifically destructive things that drunks do. Excessive pot-heads do damage to their lungs and may raise their blood pressure but they don't *** up with organ failure or dementia.

tobacco isn't a mind altering drug

same could be said for the more lethal and legal drugs of alcohol and tobacco and a good portion of prescriptions.

Every time we get something new someone always goes overboard with it for awhile then it dies down to a dull roar. We just gotta ride the wave and roll our eyes at the dumb ideas.

A lot of people here in Colorado still are uncertain about the use and effects of MJ (epecially older folks). This is a way for them to check it out safely (smoke, eat and go to bed)! Of course, cost is going to be a BIG factor.

Sadly there is no "who cares, let people do what they want option" I don't smoke pot nor am I really excited about a bud and breakfast, but I support the right of those who wish to smoke or go to this kind of place. It doens't hurt anyone so my opinion is firmly "why should I care?"

I think it is a huge mistake and people that consume and smoke pot will live to regret it later on down the road... I hope they don't expect everyone to think it's a great idea...

stupdity should be painful

We all have to live with our choices. Consider though that the stoners were getting stoned before this. Alcohol is arguably more destructive and far more engrained in our society (booze cruises, drinks with every meal out, bars everywhere, etc. etc.).

I have a problem with people that drink too much as well. (I don't drink so it kind of bothers me) I don't mind someone that has a glass of wine or maybe a beer once in a while beyond that I would rather they did it somewhere that I'm not included... I would never go anywhere that people are smoking pot because I don't want to be exposed to it... There are too many things that you can do that don't involve drugs or alcohol - I was raised by parents that didn't drink and I guess it rubbed on all seven of their ********... I'm not saying that my siblings haven't had a glass of wine but that's the extent of what they do... (one or two of them) the rest don't drink.
