OF COURSE.... UNFORTUNATELY THE NEW TECHNOLOGY OFTEN ALLOWS ANONYMITY WHICH IS USED TO BE DESTRUCTIVE. THERE ARE MANY WHO WOULDN'T BE AS PROFANE OR UGLY OTHERWISE...

Unless you have a condition that absolves you of responsibility in some way, then yes of course. The problem is online when big sites use anonymity and there's no way of tracing the poster people start trolling and being abusive, and know they can get away with it.

Yes and No, depending on the words and to what degree they are destructive. The words of the Merchants of Doubt, for instance, are profoundling misleading and deceptive, but i wouldn't deny them the right to spew their propaganda. Citizens of a free society must learn to discriminate facts from fiction ... so lets begin teaching critical thinking skills to our future voter ********. We'd have to do better than Boehner!

Or Obama, Reid and Pelosi.

To a degree i do agree. It's the nature of politics. At least none of them are in denial of reality, claiming that CO2 is a carcinogin. Boehner redefines ignorance. "Not ignorance, but the ignorance of ignorance, is the death of knowledge." Alfred North Whitehead

People seem to be very hypocritical in who they want to hold accountable. It seems to matter very much who is saying what.

Who else would be responsible?

99% of the time. I am sure those with Turret's cannot control 100% of their outbursts.

Yes we are sister, but there's a number of people that think *** will absolve them of all their sins no matter what. This is one of the main reasons mainstream religion and I took separate paths.

Absolutely, and in more ways than one.

If we're talking about crimes, then yes! We are all responsible for criminal behaviors. We're also responsible for slander that could harm someone else. Cyber stalking and bullying are very scary. Especially if it's done by someone close to you who could cause harm. Being civil doesn't mean we have to agree on everything. Politics and religion are controversial subjects and often invite debate. Science can be controversial too if there's a political agenda attached. There's many different sides to any argument and many different perspectives. Most politicians deserve to be made fun of because they're so out of touch with voters and most are liars.. It's not good to be too serious and politically correct. There's nothing wrong with a sense of humor. I appreciate political cartoons that make me laugh. Nobody should be criminalized because of their religious or political beliefs unless they're a domestic terrorist and nobody should have the right to order people around and tell people what to think. Dictators are terrible people. If a politician runs who behaves as though they're king of the world, I won't vote for them. Voter suppression and intimidation should be considered a crime as well as falsely reporting innocent people of being criminals.

It's why we should try to think before we speak and act.

This reminds me of something similar, I hate when people have a bad experience at a business and try to sue the business. Like get over yourself, conceited scumbag.

Depends on the words.
Accidentally swearing when you stub your toe - Nope, you're fine
Deliberately cussing someone out - yes, you are seriously accountable

There's free speech, and then there's common sense. Nobody's saying to be totally PC and censor everything, but when you have an extreme view and express it without tact or good grace, expect a reaction. Pretty simple.

Yes we are entirely responsible of our own words and actions

Fifty years ago, "most" ****** accepted responsibility for what they did or said. I still accept responsibility; no hesitation. Since the 1960's however, the attitude, behavior and laws in this country have been deliberately sabotaged by the evil stench of "Political correctness" (among many other things!) So, the only people in America who AREN'T and WON'T BE "accountable for their words or actions" any time soon are: Politicians, Celebrities and the Elites! Get used to that unspoken law; "It is, what it is!" :-(

Of course we are.

But that attitude would probably offend liberals and Christians, but I don't care.

Every one of us is accountable for our actions, and first and foremost we are judged by them, and not by what we believe or do not believe.

We should be, of course. That's why I try to choose my words carefully... I will be who I really am no matter what but I have enough social etiquette to know what to say and what to do and when it is ok to or not. Respect others that deserve it (like they respect you too), respect yourself, and know what you're saying before you spit it out, apologize when you mess up, defend yourself when need be. It's smart, mature and simply the right thing to be accountable for your words and actions obviously, otherwise, you should probably never speak again!

To *** we are unaccountable for all we say and do but unto man, no not really, because people are all falable. We sometimes speak and act impulsively, or out of shock or fear or anger or ignorance and the only one who can really decipher all of that is The Lord. So, pple have set up laws to deal with the great injustices/wrongs of this world and sometimes the system actually works.

I think so, yes because if we do something bad, even if we don't get caught, and I'm gonna go religious on y'all, one day when we are before ***, he knows exactly what we do and we'll all have to take account for everything we do one day on the day of judgement.
