Want to party like it's 2012? Step into something from the 1950s. According to celebrities and fashion experts, this year's hottest look is about 60 years old.

"I think of great hair," Eva Longoria told The ********** Press, recalling the decade of "Grease" and Audrey Hepburn. "The great falls and the red lipstick, and definitely the full skirts. I think it's flirty. The '50s are flirty."

"I think of the iconic all-American girl with the small waist dresses, and 'Grease' with the little ribbons around their neck," Isabel Lucas told the AP. And even though it takes place in the early 60s, Kirsten Dunst links the trend to "Mad Men."

"Right now, 'Mad Men' is so popular," Dunst told the AP. "So, I feel like everyone wants to watch something pretty. Like I love how put together women were. There is an elegance and an art to that. It's exhausting too. But it looks beautiful when a women is put together like that."

We do love the ladylike look of a cinched waist and a longer skirt -- and it's definitely flattering on most of us. But should 2012 be about something NEW, rather than just recycling a decades-old style?

Anything has got t be better than now. It is impossible to buy any nice clothing. Because everyone is so **** fat the clothing makers make nothing but fat clothes. I need to buy kids stuff half the time because everything is sooo big.

Pleeease. You are NOT ******** about being too small for clothes are you? Because I can tell you, just because they might be larger, they are still shaped for a small person.

I'm ready for them dresses to come back. Today you see woman almost showing all the goods. Belive it or not I don't like it. The shopping is over before you say hi. In the 60's the dresses showed off the good looks of the girl not her ******. My wife still will dress like that for me for some occasions. That was a great time for me. Had a ball.

Thank ***! Girls can start looking like real girls again!
It seems that clothes considered for strippers years ago are considered "Normal" now.
Seriously?
We don't need microminis to look good! Look at Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly!
All we need is class!

I love swing dresses!!! I don't like dresses that are too long (past the knee and it's a no for me) but the cinched-in waist is soo cute.

Fashions peaked in the 40s through early 60s. Men and women. 60s hippy clothes? 70s glitter or disco fashions? 80s ridiculousness? 90s grunge or gangsta? The mishmash of this decade? Sorry, but even though its before my time, I wish the 50s fashions would come back... to stay, lol.

Any thing that makes a woman feel comfortable and can keep a man looking at her face is OK with me. Advice from a true leg man who hates cosmetics. Less is way more.

I've always liked the more modest fashion of the 1950's. Not too covered up but not too revealing! I love it!

Yes, the 1950's fashion is very lady-like to me! At least their bodies are covered up and leaves something to men imagination. Today, women let it all hang out....******, and ***** & whatever else they can. They leave nothing to men imagination anymore! They dress to ****** to me.
