Here is my dilema, I am an animal lover, so I am not harboring dark evil thought's of kidnapping the neighbor's pooch and delivering him to the pound. I AM ABSOLUTELY HATING THIS DOG for But, they kick him out of the house at 5:30-6:30am and he barks non-stop at everything. If a leaf floats in the wind, the dog barks at it. Good bye to any additional rest on the weekends.

It is impossible to discuss this problem with the neighbor because they are very passive aggressive, it will only make it worse. (Said neighbor is my sister-in-law). I would very much like to deliver her to the pound.

You might try using a dog whistle. Every time it barks, you **** the whistle - only the dog can hear it and it makes the dog uncomfortable. Eventually, it should stop.

I had/have the same dilemma. I started by befriending the dog to gain a degree of influence.

Oh, that rotton dog would probably just bark more, but thanks.

Befriending him will change your attitude...if you can pull it off. My neighbor's dog now knows that I do him favors and will abide by many of my commands...including "be quiet". The bigger problem for you is your s-i-l. I'll admit that Linnster's solution is more realistic and immediate.

The dog is most likely barking to get attention. It needs companionship.

For whatever it's worth, I had a next door neighbor whose dog would start barking as soon as he left for work and barked like that for hours until the owner came home. I tried the whistle, but didn't have much success. It would stop for a while and start over again. The dog was so disruptive to the other tenants in the building, that management gave him the option of getting rid of the dog or they would terminate the lease and get rid of both of them. The tenant moved out.

Good one.

I can sympathize with your problem. I love dogs, but they can't be permitted to wreak havoc on everyone because the owners don't want to train them properly.

Sounds to me like this dog has anxiety and separation issues. They need to keep him in the house at night and not put him outside. Dogs are the best house alarm system you can have, so I never get upset when my dog barks, but at night, he stays inside! That way your alarm system (your dog) is safe and can let you know if someone is trying to break in, and your neighbors are happy also. I read an article recently about this type thing and the experts say NEVER leave your dog outside like that.

He is inside until they get up, between 5:30 and 6:30, yeah, then he wakes up his unfortunate neighbors. Life is filled with such joy.

It's just an hour of barking, put on some headphones and listen to the lullaby.

Only bad thing is it's my brother and sister in law, it might make family outings rather
awkward. I'am tired of the barking though, thanks.

Get someone to set up mines all over your neighbors lawn, so that when the dog goes out to take a deuce he gets ***** to the moon instead.

I have 3 acres and have 13 dogs adjacent to my property. Many times dogs are left out all day and day and, worse yet, left out while the rude neighbors aren't even home. UGH!!!! SO Frustrating and unfair. It is generally a bad idea to talk to them about it - they will be embarrassed or angry and think you are crazy. I have tried every dog bark controller on the market (not kidding!) short of strapping zapper collars to the offending animals. I have gotten so fed up that I have finally built my own sonic blaster that is powerful and works from a distance - I added a remote so I can use it from inside my house. It is bulletproof and waterproof and it works. I am not a company, just a frustrated home owner, but it is so good I am selling them on EBay under the cute name of U-Control-It because it finally puts you in control of the problem and lets you do something about it rather than beat your head against the wall.

Family or not, Call the cops and complain about this, This is why I don't care for dogs.

People don't like to get involved, but this is not fair to you or them. I say go for it. The police will pay them a visit one morning, and there will be no mention of you. If they don't comply, they will be ticketed.

It's NOT your place to punish the DOG. And it doesn't matter what issues the owners have, they NEED to take responsibility for their frigging dog. Write a LETTER, detailing exact times and dates of when the dog barks, and then send the letter to them requiring their signature. Once you know they get the letter, if the dog continues barking, call the Animal Control, and demand these people get cited, and be sure you show them your letter. Do this everyday, and eventually, the owners will have to go to court. OR, go down to the animal control office and ASK them the exact steps you must take to get this taken care of.

Most communities have a noise ordinance that includes barking dogs. You can report her anonymously.
