An aunt of mine would refer to it as "anadama" bread, others simply as Boston brown bread...best right out of the oven with ****** on a cold winter's day! And yes, I'm from New England, originally...

I haven't seen it at all anywhere since the mid- '60's. At that time, I was living in CT, not too far from Pepperidge Farms location in Norwalk.

This was the bread of my *********. PB&J; was best on corn and molasses bread. We could still get it in New York until the late 1970's.

It came in a deep gold wrapper with brown print.

That was my favorite sandwich bread in the 70's. Packed with sliced tomatoes and cucumbers and a slice of sharp cheddar cheese, it was the stuff of my lunchtime dreams at a difficult ***. How I miss that tasty  concoction! Pepperidge Farm, how could you take that away from me?
