My daughter, finishing her forth year in college. As for the others, who ******* they were too cool for school (college), they only get verbal encouragement, high fives, and prayers. NO "*****" old enough to be a high school graduate should be babied into becoming a grown dependent (aka Democrat).

I paid for 10 years, a car computer repairs etc. and today she is to busy for old Dad and Mom, anyone else experience this, wish I could redo the support for college, ungrateful self centered.

Partly. Well, our S-i-law is still in school, so my daughter gets some help from us. Soon after he finishes (next year), and gets a job, we'll have to remove the subsidy.

I hear.

And it scares me.

I would just show up at her house one day. Are there grandkids yet?

I am not universally known as a Futurist; however, I contend that I should be held in high regard for making the conscious decision not to adored by an ***** ***** depending upon me ever.... I abstained from having offspring.

I don't have ******** at all and never will because it is immoral to do so.

"Each one of us was harmed by being brought into existence. That harm is not negligible, because the quality of even the best lives is very bad - and considerably worse than most people recognize it to be. Although it is obviously too late to prevent our own existence, it is not too late to prevent the existence of future possible people. Creating new people is thus morally problematic." - David Benatar; Better Never to Have Been: The Harm of Coming into Existence.

While I don't share your beliefs, thankfully, it is a personal choice whether or not to have ********. I say thankfully because it would be depressing as **** to subscribe to that one AND because my family and I have been happy and experienced life fully without worrying about what others think.

Better to accept a depressing reality (which reality is depressing) than to live in a delusion of optimism.

There is no such thing as happy. There is only the temporary absence of pain. That's all life consists of: pain and suffering with short bouts of relief. I resent my parents for bringing me into this world, and will, when I can afford the means necessary, undo that action in a dignified and painless fashion.

The picture is silly, its showing parents disappointed with their son for moving back home and their son miserable for being some kind of failure when they should be embracing him and loving him, its actually all wrong in a sense. Its us ****** that are the failures because we allowed the cost of living (Rent, food, gas, tuition) to sky rocket and did nothing about it. We allowed jobs to move overseas and did not punish companies for doing so, instead we rewarded them by still buying there products. We are not only allowing are manufacturing jobs to go overseas but now our **** corporate jobs and middle management jobs as well. No my dear friends that picture above should be the other way around. We as older ****** are still the stewards of this country and need to get tougher and fight back. The middle class are being evicted from our cities because we allow the 1% to pick the president and dictate an economic policy that only works for them and slowly drives all else into slavery and poverty. The 1% are living their dream while the American people pay for it and its wrong. Now it is making it ****** for young ****** to get their own place, why? Because the average rent in a rural area is almost 1000 per month, in a city its 1500, and food and gas is way high. When they leave...

Because the average rent in a rural area is almost 1000 per month, in a city its 1500, and food and gas is way high. When they leave college they have debt. After college they land a job making 40 grand but are single and pay 40% to taxes which leaves them about 25 grand a year - 12 grand for rent =13 grand for the year, also gas food and other expenses not to mention the loan for school. This is why kids are moving back. Not because of them its because we have become sheep and the one percent and landlords are our Shepard's and they are shepherding us into poverty and our kids into the street.

No, because I'm not a parent, but my parents are still supporting my 18 year old sister. That may seem young enough that it would be normal, but normal would be just still living at home. She's been out of home for over a year now, living at colleges first in other Aussie states, then over in New York, and the whole time they have funded her rent and her school fees.

The deal was, we paid tuition, they covered everything else including a job after graduation. Come home for visits, but don't bring laundry and don't move in. It worked then and works today. All three grown ******** made it on their own after college.
I refused to relinquish our retirement nest egg to educated ********.

And why is it better? Seems like it made you perfectly miserable. As for there being no such thing as happy, that's just total nonsense from a chronically depressed nutter; I can personally attest to being deliriously happy many times in my life, and the feeling is so much more than 'the temporary absence of pain'. Simple neurochemistry can attest to that. I feel sorry for you, you might want to get some help.
