The powers that be in Hollywood want to jump on the witches, vampires and supernatural wave that's hit TV and movies...so, they dug up "Charmed" and said "Let's just update this one for the current crowd!" Why be creative when you can retread old ideas??

Exactly...it wasn't low ratings, because it was still being watched by millions weekly. It was just that the writers had exhausted all the monster, voodoo, psychic, witchy story arcs they could come up with....and the actresses were getting bored to death with delivering the same old lines every week.
