I agree.

I find it to be the greatest arrogance to claim you know the truth of some of the universe's biggest questions, and claim it with certainty.

That's a very perceptive attitude - as long as it is accompanied by no desire to deprive others of the comfort they may find in their beliefs.

Middle Earth must also be real.

Maybe a less logical example; but Tolkien did say it was somewhere in our world... so...

canon.

And that proves a magical sky daddy...how? By your logic, the Trojan war proves the Iliad. We know achilles existed but he was no demigod dipped in the river styx.

OK. The Bible is literal history. It is used by archeologists to make discoveries and acquire understanding of the ancient world. That literal history includes the sacrifice of Christ on a Roman cross and his resurrection from the tomb; his subsequent presence with his disciples and with hundreds of witnesses on a variety of occasions and his transfiguration and ascension to the right hand of the Father. As he said would happen the gates of **** have not prevailed over his church. Instead it grew like wildfire to the extent that it was imitated by opportunists and ultimately became a main stream value in the Roman Empire itself. Within 60 years of his crucifixion most of the New Testament was completed.

Anything. The smallest, tiniest bit of empirical evidence for your specific brand of religion. The rules:

1: You cannot use generic intelligent design arguments. I am a deist and believe in some form of intelligent design but for all intents and purposes I'm an atheist because I don't believe in any man-made religion.

2: Presupposition arguments are also not allowed (ex: look into your heart). These are just lazy and if that's what you had in mind don't bother responding.

3: Finally, if you say "look at the trees" I'm going to be very, very disappointed in you. That's more of a pet peeve than anything... So many times I hear people go "Look around you! At the trees and the animals! Can't you just FEEL JESUS?" It was funny the first dozen times.

Anything else, literally anything for your concept of ***. I'm all ears.

I like the bit from neil degrasse tyson where he basically says anyone who's content with their current level of knowledge should just get out of the way so he can get his work done.

Question should read...... Can you have faith in those who seek the truth also support those who feel they have found it.

I think a better example is the Astral Plane that Merlin cut off so humans couldn't use magic. We know Britain existed and that there was a man named Merlin, most likely a pagan forest/tribe leader (can't remember the word off the top of my head)

Also all of the places in it are based on real places but I believe it's meant to be in New Zealand somewhere if I remember correctly ;)
