Well, that's ten states where the majority of people 'have their $hit together'.

Yeah, I get that...but it's not very common.

Based it on vote percentages from the 2012 election in each of those 10 states.

I agree with what you said.

NH was always a strong conservative state, but not it's mostly libertarian (not the fake ones) leaning. The northeast in general has a lot of liberal mind people and NH has seen many move to it's state.

Sort of--I'm a conservative and an agnostic--but to each his own.

Over in UK we're even less religious, with only 26% of the population considering religion important

Except for Alaska, the other 9 are blue based on the 2012 presidential election. In fact, in those 9 states, Obama won by a greater margin over Romney than Romney did over Obama in Alaska for most of them.

yep, Britain was once described as "the most irreligious, most tolerant nation on earth".

It's funny how often those two points walk hand in hand.

Maine is a moderate state and New Hampshire is libertarian.

But they both vote democratic...

Not according to the 2012 presidential election. In NH, the Libertarian Gary Johnson got a whopping 1.16% of the vote. You would think a Libertarian state would have produced higher results.

Well, generally I mean bluer as in overall the culture is less traditionally conservative as well. But yes, Alaska is definitely not one of them.

Not surprisingly, they're generally bluer states.

Being religious and socially conservative go hand in hand.

What I am wondering is what they are defining as "nonreligious".

Thanks for filling me on this info. I have previously thought five of the least religious states were bordered on the Pacific ocean. You have listed four of them in 5th, 6th, 7th and 9th place.

9. Hawaii - sounds perfect for me.

It is not a matter of religon. It is a matter of not having religon that is defiled. Defiled religon calls arresting and death good. Defiled religon loves the world and the things in it. Defiled religion breaks love works no ill to people.

Good for them. Being nonreligious doesn't imply that they're not spiritual, the more impactful quality.
