Your cell phone belongs to you -- and you only. But sometimes, stuff happens. And you have a strange feeling that the communication that goes on in your phone isn't exclusively for your eyes only.

Are you confident in your mobile phone's security and privacy settings? Or do you worry that the government is reading your text messages and emails? What if you had a messaging service that featured "military grade" encryption? Would you be more likely to use it?

As I said, you are paranoid, so you can stop with the usual inane conservative rhetoric. No one cares what you say.

I've never had reason to believe that electronic communication was secure. It never has been.

NO and more NO. But then again, I use it so infrequently and mostly for emergencies and for my wife to remind me what to get on my way home from work, so if they are listening, I do hope that they will not consider me a security threat to the nation.

there's no certainty at all about secured privacy on any device what so ever, that's the agenda 911 was orchestrated this country is under threat by ruthless politicians,, who ?
wasn't transparency one of Obama's campaign issues...most of us do not enjoy the concept of our constitution being altered for any reason especially when we're not certain of our leaders intent it all seems to be headed for a dictatorship it might mean torture abuse no human rights something like China or North Korea one can be executed on a whim !

Too bad that the idea of a dictatorship was uttered by the guy who designed the Patriot Act.

Yes, George W. Bush has stated he'd prefer to be a dictator many times:

"You don't get everything you want. A dictatorship would be a lot easier." Describing what it's like to be governor of Texas.
(Governing Magazine 7/98)

"I told all four that there are going to be some times where we don't agree with each other, but that's OK. If this were a dictatorship, it would be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator,"

It's a troubling situation considering that the general public has limited knowledge on the NSA's spying, and there's little evidence to back up the spying. But with all the tracking that goes on in a phone, it's **** to believe our information is private. It's slightly unsettling, but I guess the best immunity from spying would be from a landline or a phone that isn't a smart phone.

But I have no problem if it is the government ...

The question is DO YOU USE THAT TECHNOLOGY? Most devices offer encryption and at least single factor device locking. about 5% of people voluntarily take these steps.

There isn't any security in a cell phone when the NSA can get all your calls, records and locations from the phone company.

LOL no.

**** no! That is why I will never make an online purchase from it. My main email doesn't know my phone exist. And I ****** every text is viewed by someone other than the addresee.

There's enough nefariousness out there both in and out of government to make on wary about the security of mobile communications. I treat my cell phone as if it had an extension somewhere out there and do not use it for any purpose that would require a secure connection.
