In the military you hang together. On the job and off the job. I have made many lifelong friends during my 26 year military career.

I've always made a few friends with every job I've had, sometimes more, sometimes less! I still communicate with a few!

Most of us are retired now but still get together for lunch or coffee a few times a year.

I keep work at work.

I'll stop and chat with a coworker if I see them while I'm out and about, but I don't make plans to do stuff with them outside of work.

Not anymore. I learned the **** way that building friendships at work is a REALLY bad idea.
