Here is a local example:

25 year old soldier who is suffering from emotional distress comes home and watches some **** of girls who are apparently around 16 years old. Website is being tracked and pretty soon the police bust in on him and arrest him and wreck his place and takes all of his computers for evidence. He is being prosecuted for ***** ***********.

What punishment do you think he deserves?
young girls

give the guy a break - he didn't create the **** and he probably just happened upon it ... this is his first time, right?

The law is the law.
He wasn't suffering from emotional stress so much that he couldn't take the time to log online and search for kiddy ****, now was he????
Don't make excuses for pedophiles, they will eat it up with any and every defense you give them to get out of punishment.
Poor poor pitiful me is a cop-out that allows kitty **** to flourish!
Nail his ***!!!!

Difficult to say.
1. Did he intend to look at ***** ****? Or did he just happen upon it? That's a possibility.
2. Did he know that the girls were underage? For all we know he could have thought the girls were 18.

I feel like there needs to be more information for me to make an informed decision.

if he didn't know, it isn't his fault... I was mostly shaped at 16, it's **** to tell I was not 18 yet

As for the picture, it's stupid for some case. If a 15 yo girl dates a 16 yo, it suddenly become wrong to have *** when he hits 18 and she's still 17?

But they'll transfer him to another Parish.

Castration

Castration would help IF he was raping and impregnating woman and girls. If he's only guilty of CP-watching, then this would destroy his chances of a family and likely make him very hostile towards those that did it to him. Even IF he was a pedophile, castration wouldn't necessarily remove the desire; that's still in the brain.

why is it that raping an ***** who couldn't defend herself is only a fraction as bad as raping a minor

I think you mean pedophiles and kiddy ****. You might need a hearing aid.

Again, i didn't give my opinion for the question, come on, go after the bad guys. there are plenty of um.

Nope, I hear and "READ" just fine. It's a proven fact that viewnig kiddy **** leads many pedophiles to act out their urges.

And yes I was typing to fast and mispelled those words which are corrected, but peple got the point.

Some pedophiles only do the act (think of some priests) and watching kiddy **** doesn't mean that the person is a pedophile. Some people watch bestiality or BDSM, but that doesn't mean that they prefer (or ever would have) *** with animals or like to be chained.

True, but most pedophiles in prison who have been interview have said if it were not for viewing kitty **** so much they did not think they would have acted on their urges the way they did.
And i'm sure you are right. There are more sick people out there who view the crap and never act out their fantasies on others, as well as those who never view the stuff but are pedophiles
But in my opinion they all are still sick ******** because it's not normal human behaviour.

True, and We The People make the laws, now don't we???
So your saying we are the ***!

people sometimes are ***** ... haven't you noticed that??

and yes: sometimes "we the people" are an *** too: e.g., slavery, forced sterilization, boy bands, invidious discrimination, bacon-cheeseburgers (they are delicious, but so is illicit ***), subsidies for tobacco farming, congressional health insurance benefits at the expense of the rest of us, prejudices ...

Lol, indeed my friend, people are ***** indeed, Lol.
But we still can change things if we pull our heads out from our ***** and really look for those who are like ourselves and want what we want.
Fo me, that's the Green Party.

No one should be prosecuted for watching, but if they help create it or disperse it-sure. How did he know that they were 16? Also it's possible to see something on accident!

This only works for non psychopathics. Being ex military, guilt had a lot to do with how I functioned after Vietnam. And society, at least then, never let you forget. Oh by the way, my guilt was not called for. The problem is if the person is good at concealing the true. But never any excuses.

He didn't make the ****, if **** is on the internet, everyone can watch it if they like, they should punish the maker than, not the the one watching.

I chose prison time because ************** do not do well in general prison population, they tend to be made "Bubba's plaything" if you know what I mean. Most prisoners are fathers also and you understand where I am coming from.Fathers get rather angry if you mess with their kids. Now as far as **** goes I would come down a little leniant on him, after all it is only pictures.

"A wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government." —Thomas Jefferson

Could someone please show me how this man "injured" (harmed) anyone? For that matter, could someone please show me how the makers of the material in question harmed anyone? As long as force or coercion were not used to obtain it, how was ANYONE harmed? If you can't show me that, this case (and possibly the whole law behind it) is completely illegitimate.

Sixteen is ****** a *****! Most sixteen year old women are fully developed physically and menially. The guy fought for his country! I'm sure he has a lot of built up stress that needs to be ***** into a hand full of Kleenex.

I agree with you.....mostly. Sixteen shouldn't be a ***** anymore. Not so very long ago, sixteen was a common age to marry! Unfortunately, very very few teenagers have truly achieved mental maturity today, and that shows in their making a myriad of poor decisions, probably the least of which would be offering their ***** bodies for photography. Use of mind-altering drugs, having ****** partnerships outside of marriage, and spending large amounts of time on unproductive activities such as video games rather than working, either on education or earning money, will have far more serious long term consequences than being photographed ****.

The soldier's case to me rests a lot on whether or not he knew that what he was viewing was illegal. If the girls' ages were not stated, there is no way he could have known. I don't think that what he was doing was a good thing, but neither do I think it should be criminally prosecuted.

The website pervayors should be punished...but people who click on it? you can't necessarily tell just by clicking on a website how old everybody is. I mean if it's little kids that's one thing but you can't tell 16 from 30 conclusively... Take down the website and give whoever's filming ***** **** prison time... and anyone with tapes... I'm just afraid someone's gonna click around and then get arrested. How much would that ****?

Considering the alleged soldier, I don't think he should be punished. But on possession of legitimate ***** ***********, then I believe a fine might be a proper avenue or punishment. Disregarding "artistic" approaches.

I have a serious gripe against the tactics used by the government against those who download ***** ***********. For instance, take a look into the case of Troy Bennett. His sentence for illegally acquiring ***** ***********: 220-years in prison, followed by 20 years of probation, and chemical castration. The very fact that you can **** a multitude of ******** and not get near the same amount of sentence shows the absurdity of such a sentencing. It is outrageous and as disturbing as the ***** ***********. It serves no purpose. ***** *********** is already a shadow organization.

his "emotional distress" is no excuse for this behaviour.

well how else are they going to put people in prison if they get rid of all the ****!

If they're not making CP or doing the acts, it shouldn't be punished. If they're not looking for ******** to have ****** relations with, then the sentencing only harms society: Prison time = taxpayer money, a heavy fine equates it with something 'benign' as tobacco, surely there are worse crimes (****, armed robbery, *******) that would ring up a death penalty then mere viewing/possession. Public humiliation is a given; all this talk of forgiveness and reintegrating into society is BS: *** offenders get shunned from society so they're forced to be alone.

Anyone interested in deviant ************ material who acts on their immoral impulses requires a special sort of prison time: Rehabilitation. If it doesn't work, however, they can register as *** offenders and simply exist.

I don't have the full story about the example given to make a thoughtful judgement. Did he stumble across the website by accident, or did he INTEND to go there?

However, just because you're having a /ʃɪti/ day, or that you're a soldier in the U.S. military, doesn't mean you can pull this kind of crap. In fact, I'd go as far as to say the punishment should be increased to take his lack of self-discipline into account.

With that said, I propose this system:

- 1st Offense: jail time. Depending on how much ***** **** you watch, and how far up the political ladder you are, your prison term increases accordingly.
- 2nd Offense: jail time again, but with a MUCH longer prison term.
- 3rd Offense: execution. You've proven that you can't handle the responsibilities of being part of any society and that you don't deserve to have a life.
- If you know someone who makes/distributes ***** ****, but don't report them, your wallet is practically emptied the first time, and you sent to prison the second time.
...
