Spelling is imposable for me. I have tried. My brain is simply not wired for it.

It's easy because my rote memory and recall mechanisms are wired for it. It has NOTHING to do with intelligence, so use spellcheck and don't sweat it.

If you're educated in rocket science why don't you prove it?

You can spell there is no such thing as your brain not being wired for it. The disconnect is in your personality. You have no desire to learn it, no desire translates to no effort, no effort translates to no learning, no learning results in your remaining ignorant.

Was an ace all the way through school, along with grammar and punctuation. Has continued throughout my life, especially valuable when it comes to proofreading.

It's easy, most of the time. Some obscure words throw me.

Yes, thanks to my mother drilling spelling, grammar and schoolwork into my head. But I've always loved vocabulary and the English Language. Everybody has their talents and their challenges.

But I do run into a problem with a word every once in awhile. No one is perfect.

The majority of words. I won a spelling bee once. It's only when I'm on mobile that I accidentally typo.
I also excelled in spelling worksheets in the past too. I always help my brother who needs help spelling words that may seem simple to me but, apparently not for him and he's 30 something.

Sometimes I can, sometimes I can't and sometimes my mind likes to debate and everything looks funny.

I could do trigonometry and pre-calculus in my head; yet, i can't write a simple paragraph without having to depend on grammar and spell checker to correct any errors that I made. Thank goodness for grammar/ spell check and I just how grammar/ spell check catches them.

I've always been pretty good at that spelling thing, but when in doubt, I look it up. I'm sure I still make mistakes, but not constantly. Most of my mistakes are of the brain to keyboard kind, and not because I don't know how to spell something.

I spell so messed up that they are actually words...just not the right one so check does not catch it.

It's near imposable to check your own work because your mind knows what it wants there and does not see the error. For me anyway... I can proof others better than my own.

That's why they have spellcheck on computers.. I am a marginal speller and not as good as I should be.
