Absolutely. It's the cornerstone of the theists identity. They believe the teachings, because they were taught not to question them, therefore, they view it as truth since they don't know how to seek independent results. It's really just laziness when you get down to it.

It depends on what you are talking about. For instance, many people "believe" that Social Security Disability is easy to get, only for cop-out losers, and that everyone who gets it gets more than anyone who is working. But, except on rare occasions, just the opposite is true.

THIS is the issue I am getting at. The fact that Truth and Reality have become so obfuscated with opinion and belief. Beliefs have NOTHING to do with Truth.

But, their truth doesn't have to be your reality.

If your Truth is not my Truth then one or both are not.

True. But if you don't agree on a single Truth, you will never convince the other that they are wrong. Better to live and let live, in that case.

It is possible for not one person on earth to know Truth...? Even so it would still be there... Reality is NOT invented by conceptual thinking. A person may invent an imaginary image of Truth or Reality but that only means he will never know true Truth and Reality. Like those that believe that *** is Truth. No...Truth is Truth.

It is my “belief and opinion” that the scientific method gets us closer to the “truth and reality.”

Absolutely not.

So your opinion is that science will prove ancient cave man fantasy mythology is real?

I did not talk to an “ancient cave man” lately. Did you?

On second thought, I think it was those cavemen that discover the taming of fire. Well there you have it, trial and error, the roots of the scientific method. We should thank our cavemen ancestors, for their discovery touch more lives than any other discovery throughout the ages.

Remember that, next time you play with fire to cook, heat your home during our global warming, fly on in a jet, drive your car, etc. Oh yes, no taming of fire, no iPhones.

Mythology does not need to come from the source. In fact it is built upon in layers over many years. And I am very thankful to those that worked and sacrificed their lives to try and share Truth with the future. I am not thankful to those that did and do everything they can to suppress it. religion

Who’s “truth”!?!?

Please, tell me about “truth.” It sounds like you have the “truth.” Why are you holding this “truth” back from the rest of the world? I beg you, in speaking for the world, what is that “truth?”

You are correct. 99% of the world believes their reality into existence. Obviously this takes time to learn so I will start you off with this and we can work our way along. https://sk1951.wordpress.com/...

That article is incomplete. It makes no reference to the scientific method. You tell me, is the force of gravity true?

It's the scourge of relativism that feeds the egos of the self-righteous who think their opinions are as valid as all others. : “Scholars are increasingly recognizing that behind extreme relativism is nihilism, and behind nihilism is narcissism.”
“... developmental unfolding of increasing wholeness and depth gives us a crucial key for understanding how all views can fit into the big picture, but some views are better than others because they have more depth.” from "One Taste" by Wilber

Truth and Reality is nothing more then opinion and belief. At one time truth and reality stated that the earth was flat, the sun revolved around the earth and the earth was only little more then 5000 years old...

I think you have "felt" reasons...like a fear of death. There is no afterlife in human form. religion

Someday, EVERYBODY is going to get to find out! THAT is a certainty!

If it's such a certainty, then it shouldn't be so difficult to prove.

I have seen a LOT of folks die in my life. While I am in NO way either clergy or a "PREACHER," I have seen reasons to believe in the after life.

I will be just fine in the afterlife. I am proud of my Christian beliefs and NOT to deny them.

But it is a more universal phenomena than most would like to admit. As an agnostic I find the amount of faith and confidence strong atheist's have to be rather shocking, and unfounded, especially in a group that denies they rely on faith.
