I can't believe that the majority of people on this board voted 'Yes it is Bad for Morality.'

Here's a hint for you. If you don't like something, don't use it. Quit trying to speak for other people by calling what they do immoral. Just because you're a prude doesn't mean that everyone else should be. *********** doesn't make people deviants, most men in this country use it. You'll never win the battle against ****, it's winning in a landslide victory. There would just be other ways of getting it if it were banned thanks to groups like anonymous.

You commit the logical fallacy of argumentum ad populum. Your posting is also self-referentially absurd

Everybody knows ******** is mostly conservative - so much so that most of them want ted cruz for pres even though other conservatives know better.

The amount of immoral people seems larger than it is in reality. The problem is that people that would have normally been to shy to express themselves can now do so without being judged because their identities are a secret.

I'm with the atheists on this question.

The internet can be used for both good and evil purposes.

This countries morality had already slid into the gutter. "*** drugs rock and roll", the entitlement society and the "me" generation was a "thing" long before the internet.

The three banes of American and world culture: explicit ***, drugs and rock and roll.

Not unless the Internet is used for evil purposes. But other than that, It's not so bad.

When the internet used properly to gather information it becomes a great tool. The flip side of argument, there is a great portion of *********** which is not healthy, especially to young minds. *********** distorts ********* and can become very addictive.

.... and the 46% of people on this page who seem to agree with the alleged survey - are they also trying to please someone?

You want to know who's bad for morality? PEOPLE. A website is a canvas, the computer and accessories is the paint brush, and the user is the artist. You can't blame a crappy picture for being crappy, you can only blame an artist for being crappy.

That conjecture is flawed. **** existed long before the internet, people just didn't know about it as much. From ***** magazines or ****** art it all has a precedent even **** videos were available before the internet came around.

The internet is not bad for morality, it allows communication and the sharing of files between people. If anything the internet allows for more honesty in the world by allowing people to learn about the world from many different mindsets. Instead of jumping on the local opinion boat it allows us to double check facts, get a different point of view. Talk to people on forums on a variety of different subjects. Can it be abused? Of course, but so can religion, civic rights, economic and political power of any kind.

Morality is subjective.

Yes and no, like just about anything it depends on how you use/abuse it,

I thought without ***, all morality was relative. If that's the case, then I don't see how it could be good or bad for morality.

Nah. Morality is a pretty closelt held set of beliefs in each individual. The actual and supposedly immoral things people do online arw the same things people were doing long before there was ever an internet.

It's value neutral. Morality may determine *how* it is used but it does not influence morality.

It depends what you do online.

**** has existed in Ancient times and there was no internet.

Probably.
Can't say that is for sure tho.

Surveys are flawed. They call the people who they think will agree with them and give them the answers they want.

No it's not. The internet is merely a tool for communication. The internet has no moral compass, because it is not a sentient being with consciousness. it is merely a library of the world's information. A reflection of the people.

It's just an honest reflection of the bad morality that's already out there.

Christian and Islamic books, if they are the judge of morals, have some of the hideous forms of morality that you are too follow. Are those where I am too get my moral template from?

Who did the survey? American Family ***********? Some church group? Who gets to be the "morality police"?? Please!!

According to the headline, this alleged survey wasn't judging the morality of the internet. It was surveying what people thought about it.
And judging by the voting here, it seems the survey was correct.
