This is just my experience, so it may not be one-hundred percent correct, but I've always found that the darker, ashier looking ones are usually bad (but, like I said, that's just my experience.)
When it comes to shape, I've found that the small, round ones are ****** to crack, but taste better than the bigger, longer ones.

No idea; I don't eat that many pecans.
(Although I do love ****** Pecan ice cream.)

And I know how to tell if an egg is spoiled without breaking it...

Please educate me on the secrets of good pecans (although I've never had a bad one that I recall). I love all sorts of nuts. In fact, many of my friends are same...

Pecan Shells are used in Sand-Blasting Machines to remove old paint and rust splotches from metal. They really work great. The reason that they are more preferred than course sand is because the course sand gets inside moving parts and stays there; and that can cause damage to the equipment, etc., that's being Sand-blasted.

The Pecan Tree is the State Tree of the Great Republic (State) of Texas. The Birthday of the Republic of Texas is March 2, 1836.
