I have friends that offer their opinions when they think I am struggling with a decision and I appreciate that. But, to me.....a true friend will never get in your way or judge you for any decision you make but always be there when you need them the very most. When a true friend steps in when everyone else that claims to be your friend steps away, you know what true friendship really is all about. Just my opinion.......

Two things 1) That depends on your definition of "going down." By mine, a true friend had better NOT get in my way! 2) I always like to hear their opinion on things but may ignore it. They have help keep me from making a fool of myself a couple of times, other times, I went right on and made a fool of myself anyway!

I kind of agree - One of my favorite sayings that was in a card given to me by a true friend was "Friends are angels who lift us up when our wings forget how to fly". A true friend is a friend who is there not only there for us during the good times, but is there for us during the bad times and tries to keep us from going down when they realize that is what is happening.
