BLOCKING.....Yes or No and why?

Question

Since there are so many threads about blocking, I want to find out why. Since everyone knows it is not a violation of "free speech". Why are you for/against blocking? Why do you need to announce that you have been blocked?

As usual political opinions grant me permission to post anything I want on your threads.

Blocking does not make someone bad nor does non-blocking make someone a good person. It is just blocking. People block for valid reasons or they block for the dumbest reasons; whatever the situation at the time, it is what it is. Why let it linger? I can't understand why people can't just move forward. Blocking or being blocked is one of the most useless worries one can have in this world!

I block when people troll or they get obnoxiously rude. I wouldn't stand for that in the real world and i won't in my on line world.

Yes, because plenty of people are just not nice and no one has to put up with it.....

This site is about the exchange of ideas and opinions, so the rampant abuse of blocking negates the reason we are here.

Also, the way the system functions, if someone blocks you it not only prevents you from conversing with them, it prevents you from conversing with anyone responding to one of their questions.

I've asked a few blocking questions and found that they are the most popular polls going and you never gat too many arguments. I unblocked all the people on my block list but they have not unblocked me, except for about a third of them...I'm trying not to block anyone but it's very **** at times....
