Some of the remaining ones are used for public rest rooms. One would have to have a dire emergency to use some at certain locations. The stench would make a California Condor throw up.

A very few..... and the ones that ARE there have been vandalized
Sad.... !! We still NEED Public Phones--- someone could have a "dead cell phone", lost it, had it stolen, or on "roaming'---not getting a signal--and have an EMERGENCY.
"Vandals" should get sentenced to a minimum of "1 year extremely **** LABOR"---I doubt they'd find "kicks & giggles" in destroying other's PROPERTY Then--or Again !!

I haven't seen one anywhere recently. It's a shame not to have them every where but when I did see them they were almost always vandalized.

There should always be a public phone service.

Booths, no. Phones, yes.

There must be but I haven't seen any in years. I have seen some phones on polls in places like Grand Central Station but none in public. No place for Clark Kent to change.

It's been years and years since I saw a public phone anywhere. They should still be out there though, but I think private ownership ruined them.

There are still a few in the city that I reside in. I think they should be maintained because they are still useful.

They are a dying breed, but I have seen a few in my travels. We have an operable one outside of our local telephone company. My grandson was fascinated with it, as he had never seen one, until he came for a visit this summer.

Not that I know of. I haven't seen one in years. I saw on the news last night that they are doing away with the red phone booths in England.

Lots of them in England. And they are not all vandalized like the few that remain in America. The phones still actually work, unlike the few that remain in America.

Very tough to find. The lines are decrepit. I lived in a town just north of Seattle where the lines were installed by GTE in the 70s. They were so noisy they were unusable, what with all the drizzle and rain here. I'm afraid they are almost gone.

I wish we had more of them like we did back then.

Phone stalls like they have always had here. People vandalized the booths for the last 20 years.
