It appears that I have a stalker of sorts who likes to go around and tell people that I lie about my heritage and/or my name....that is slander and it is punishable by law.

Charu can't seem to get it right! She keeps claiming she's a Native American but can't figure out how to use a Native American name instead of an Indian name from India! My great-grandfather used to say, di-da-nv-di-s-do-di, wu-di-ge-i-s-ka (Avoid the snake)!

He is the LIAR and here is the proof......

false allegations from this site....You know who you are.

Your little saying does not compute .....no such saying as you have written.
Here you go....die slang vermy or in MY language didanvdisdodi hia inadu
in YOUR case....utsanati.

I would ignore it. I understand it can be annoying, but they are likely seeking attention and are fascinated with you. Don't feed their obsession. Pretend they don't exist. Your real friends know you and won't be fooled by some weird stalker.

We may be often in the opposite side politically but I see no reason to doubt your word or disbelieve your pride in your Cherokee heritage. I also despise stalkers and people who have nothing better rondo than harass people over things that are none of their concern.

Good luck Charu.

Interesting.... My name is Rich, and I am 1/4 Cherokee.

My Grandmother was 100% Cherokee.

Many of us have names, not directly connected to our Heritage.

So what, if her name is Hindi, but she is Cherokee? How and why is that a problem.

And if she is just 10% as pretty as her profile photos of other women, she probably is beautiful and attractive.

I'm sorry to hear that this person is treating you this way, and I sure hope you don't think all of us from Illinois are like them. I would never, ever treat anybody with disrespect, nor do I know anybody personally that is so disrespectful. I avoid people like this.

Charu I left a message here yesterday.. not sure where it went.. can't find it now..
I had said that people like this are of small minds.. usually this is an attempt to get attention and/or steal someone else's thunder.. I am sorry this was done to you, pity the person who must resort to this behavior to make himself feel good.. You are a strong person and proud of your heritage as you should be.. besides.. your friends here who number many would never allow anyone to steal your thunder..!! proud cherokee woman

Ignore the Haters. They are not worth the effort. I have spent countless hours trying to educate people on this Site, and so far I don't think I've really influenced more than about 2 people.

This person is insulting you based on your name? This person should learn about false cognates. One can find many examples of words of different languages that are alike in form.

Similarly, there are many unrelated names that are similar among languages. For example, Segal is a Jewish family name, but Sehgal is an unrelated Indian name.

You're very welcome. We should look at the world from many different perspectives, and the wealth of Native American cultures can offer many valuable teachings. Glad to see that many of them are still alive today, and congrats for your approach toward your own culture!

Lol - Barefoot, are you not insulting the snake?
I know that snakes are perhaps not that much appreciated by many, but they are part of the biodiversity, as long it is in their native habitat.

Have a nice afternoon!
