I don't refuse them if i have to get a shot, but I always cringe when one is about to stick me.
Luckily, I haven't had a shot in years. I don't even remember the last time I had a fever or the flu. I am good for now.

Not with today's needles! But I grew up in the 50s when needles were thick and reused (after sterilizing) over and over. Even though they checked for burrs, every once and a while one would get through and it was like being stuck with a tree limb!

Yes I have and it only started recently, for some unknown reason. Until about 5 years ago I was o.k. with having blood tests and injections, but since my mother died I have become scared of having a needle put in to me.

and No..

It depends on the needle.. If it is a long horse type needle, it isn't happening!!!

If it is a small one, ohh hec why not...

I had been diagnosed with cancer about 20 yrs ago.. When it came to the chemotherapy it was a IV drip.. But there was one medication that they had to give through a needle.. This thing look like a horse needle, it was long.. All I could do when the nurse put it in front of me was think, she is not putting that thing in me.. If so, I was going to turn into a wild cat.. Because it wasn't going to happen.. So, I asked her, are you putting that thing in me.. She said no, that it would be put through the IV drip.. Another words, it would go into the tube that was stuck on my arm.. I said thank goodness!

I hate it when the nurse can't find the vain though.. That *****!!!

I am not afraid of needles but some of the people who try to stick me scare me. I spent much of my life giving shots and drawing blood and I am very good at it but it is as much an art as it is a science.

Some people just can't do it like some can't shoot a freethrow or hit a dartboard with a dart. But, I am apparently pretty good since my wife refused to let anyone but me draw her blood or give her shots when she went in to deliver our twins. I even prefer to draw my own blood.

But I still take it. But as long as it's not on me and it's just a little if any blood, I don't really get scared.

just the idea of getting an injection makes me unease and sick to my stomach. I have needle phobia.

But I have never refused a shot in any case, I just really don't like the needle.

Was until I was about 20, then the fear just faded away.

Can't say that I love them.

Not really. I don't like to watch them actually go into my skin, but part of that is just preventing my mind from thinking "this is about to hurt".

Getting shots, no, but when they draw blood, or are used for an IV, I get a bit tense.
