It depends. Sometimes my anxiety does show and I don't feel I do a great job at conveying what I really want, especially if I am hit with something without a warning. It I am prepared, I do pretty well.

I am a former college professor and CEO of a small cap corporation.

In those positions, one is always under pressure and must be able either to answer **** questions on the spur of the moment or hold off the answer until one's prospective response can be researched and verified.

If I'm under pressure but what I'm explaining isn't really all that important, I do struggle with the explanation sometimes. But if it really is important, that pressure helps me drive points home clearly and effectively (according to other people).

I usually know my material and give a correct answer to a question. Explaining well, requires knowing the level of the audience. Sometimes when I'm discussing an area within my expertise, I've failed to appreciate how much basic introduction is required before it's obvious that my answer is correct and complete.

That said, I don't panic under pressure.

When I was on the job I had to be able to function under the pressure because every job I went on they needed it fixed yesterday. Now that I am retired I don’t need to worry about it.

I've never enjoyed pressure, but in the past few years I have to admit that I feel more stressed w/ pressure than I used to. Retirement looms.

It depends on what I'm doing if is taking a test I'm terrible under pressure. But if it's dealing with ignorant people looking for problems then I'm pretty good at it.

Yes because if you're answering to be honest and helpful pressure is a acceptable part of life. Look at a surgeon making instant decisions to save your life.
He can't form a committee to study it like congress, L.O.L.

When I was working and younger yes, but now I don't and won't tolerate pressure from anyone about anything. Being retired I am also retired from pressure.

yes and no. I am great at getting done what needs to be done. Sometimes though I run over other people in order to do so and that's not always very pleasant for them and then I have to make amends.

Not any more. Many years ago, in the days of "LIVE" television, I was a producer and director and there was a lot of pressure there. But that's for younger people, not me anymore.

It depends on the amount of pressure at the time. A teen coming home late and finding out the old man is not asleep could be tough.

Sometimes…If my adrenaline is high and I am in a manic or flow mood the words come out effortlessly. I have intense moments of "on the fly" (I forget the actual word for it) and creative intelligence…Other than that you'd probably think it was a vapid bimbo.

I am... but the same pressure I am under means those around me are as well, and I find that many people don't reason rationally under pressure making it difficult to explain anything involving higher order conceptual reasoning.

Used to be very difficult. Toastmasters trains people to learn how speak under pressure. You can get used to it. Many people fear public speaking more than death.

Worked for an airline involved with debriefing the arriving flight crews. Passing on that information to our flight line ground crews during the "turn around" process for the next outbound flight. My job was not a high pressure position simply because the word "Mistake" was not written in our company manual, no one made important decisions under pressure.

If an inbound airplane needed repairs that required more than 45 minutes we simply pulled the aircraft out of service. Most of the flying public are puzzled when in the airline terminal changes are made with departure gates. Aircraft that are not airworthy their gate is closed. Departing passengers are routed to a gate with serviceable equipment.

We had a 45 minute window before crew and passengers were put on board also baggage and fuel. Ten minutes after the crew debriefing our dispatcher and myself had to make a firm decision if that equipment would be serviceable for the next outbound flight. Sounds very complex but years of doing the job made it very routine.

Currently computers are used by all major airlines that ******* a hundred or more critical flight items within seconds after the arrival of a flight. Flight dispatch does verify that info allowing them to give a thumbs up or down for that equipment to continue in service. Today the position I held with my former company does not exist.

Like as long as I am confident in whatever it is I am explaining and it sort of depends on who is around and how many people are listening because I will get kinda nervous then, obviously most would though anyways.
Probably should have chose "none of the above" because it just so depends on my mood, what is being explained, and who I am speaking to.

I am outstanding under pressure. When I Have a problem about anything of importance, especially if there is someone else involved who demands my opinion on the subject or demands I handle this quickly and logically, I take a pencil and pad and begin jotting down every conceivable way it may be solved,-then I go through each one to determine if this particular one will do the job. After examining each method, if I determine none will be effective I just say, "Oh, well...screw it," and I find another problem to solve. But I never lose my cool and I always sleep well at night. :) :)
